The last few months have been crazy busy, we've hardly had time to post. We've been scavenging, making, collecting & hoarding for the new Uneeka shop which is finally opening on Fri.
We've found ourselves in some funny places, thanks to Mummies, Badgers, Brothers and friends for all the help and fun along the way.

Inspired Etc...
I've just been reading an amazing new book called Etcetara by Sydney born stylist Sibella Court.
There are few books in the world as lovely as this. Etcetera is the biblio equivalent of pottering around a junk shop you’ve stumbled across in a back alley of Paris – there’s so much to see, and so much to inspire. Court is a creative curator with a magpie eye – her home and styled shots reflect her passion for colour, texture and fascinating ‘objets’.
She throws together unexpected and wonderful ingredients from the past and the present to create beautiful interiors where every object tells a story.

Soto Store
A sleek new menswear store new has just opened in Berlin called SOTO, brought to you by the guys that run fashion blog highsnobiety.com
The store will be carrying Nike Tier Zero, Vans Vault, Opening Ceremony, Band of Outsiders, Velour, Libertine Libertine, Sperry Topsider, Band of Outsider for Sperry Topsider, Deluxe, Bedwin and The Heartbreakers, Baxter of California and more...
The interior of the store is minimal, yet warm, proposing a mix of vintage wooden furniture, antique factory lamps and run-down warehouse furniture, carefully upgraded with glass and vintage wood. Most of the brands are represented for the first time in Germany, some even exclusively available on the European market. Make sure to pass by on your next trip to Berlin.

Opening Ceremony Showroom
With a trip to New York planned this year it would seem my attention is back on all the amazing shopping destinations this wonderful city has to offer. Badger has some lovely new shoes from Opening Ceremony but my interests are more focused on the showroom which was founded in 2003 and currently represents over twenty international and domestic designer collections in categories including ready-to-wear, accessories, and footwear.
Opening Ceremony Showroom's approach mirrors the spirit of the company. Through travel, the showroom has developed relationships with brands from around the world, offering a platform for these designers to grow their own businesses. Most of the collections in the showroom have been carried at the Opening Ceremony retail boutiques for at least a season, which allows the showroom to provide honest responses from customers' perspectives to these designers and the buyers who are interested in carrying the lines for their own stores.
The showroom seeks a designer that will work cohesively with current collections, while adding a new element that is not yet represented. Additionally, Opening Ceremony Showroom operates satellite showrooms in Paris and Los Angeles four times a year to truly offer designers an international agenda.
I've already been talking about some of the lovely labels it showcases such as Unearthen and Suno but can't wait to browse in person. Already wishing the year away but roll on November...

A Fresh Way to Start
We never managed to come together this year but we Shapes had very merry New Year Celebrations and we hope you all did too...
So with the hangover put well to bed, we've been looking for fresh inspiration for the New Year ahead and have come across fabulous Hove shop I Gigi General Store.
Selling a wide range of paired-down chic products I Gigi have a wonderful Women's Boutique a new Menswear collection and a General Store which includes a haven of beautiful gifts and unique pieces for your home.
The shop is said to have a calm, welcoming atmosphere where you can browse at your leisure or do some serious shopping. The muted, earthy colour palette is chic and modern and yet utterly timeless allowing all their pieces to fit seamlessly into any home.
Their website has some beautiful photography and styling, here's a little taster of some of the lovely things they sell.

I think we'll definitely be making an excuse to travel to East Sussex at some point this year to browse the shop ourselves and get a quick fix of Brighton whilst we're there. A definite date for the new diary.

In Need of Inspiration
Times are a changing, Christmas lights are going up everywhere and a trip to London is in order me thinks! I'm looking forward to visiting all my favourite shops whilst there next month and one I definitely won't be missing out on is Few & Far.
I love the stores concept of changing collections every 3 months, the windows are amazing and feature the largest and most exciting pieces from each.
I would absolutely love to work here but will have to keep using it as a great source of inspiration for the time being!
Roll on December...
