Tasty visuals...

Love fast food and fancy a bit of wedded bliss.....well last week we found out that for £250 you can get chicken nuggets and get hitched at the same time at McDonalds in Hong Kong! The lucky happy meal couple gets to share their day with all their normal customers to and meet the original hamburgerler himself, old Ronald.

I'd rather have a tasty visual....

Helene

I need to introduce you to Helene , she is an illustator from Cornwall who loves to draw charaters for books, prints and fun. She is an animal lover (this becomes clear when you see her pictures) who likes to surround herself in a world of sillyness ( i work with her so can vouch for that!) .  They are so so good, she has just opened an Etsy shop too so you can have one for yourself - they are limited though so go check-it-out.

Jaeger v Julie

JAEGER has recruited the artistic talents of Julie Verhoeven to create an exclusive illustration to be displayed in its soon-to-be opened Boutique by Jaeger pop-up store.

Verhoeven's new artwork will be used as the wallpaper for the store and in many of the label's shop windows. Elements of the illustration will also feature in a three dimensional form - as standees and hanging mobiles.

The Boutique by Jaeger store will open on Foubert's Place, off Carnaby St on August 7.

MM Paris

MM Paris are very good illustrator/graphic designers, they inspired me and the other shapes through university and beyond.  They have collaborated with so many people but, most recently with Prada where they created the Pradalphabet, a pretty mean feat I'd say.

Oh Coco...

Being in Australia its hard not to notice how inspired the youth fashion market is by graphics combining traditional methods with digital imaging... So there's nothing nicer than when you come across an Illustrator who mixes both genres so effortlessly. Check out Coco , an Illustrator from Paris. Here at Shapes That Go we love her 'aim for restraint and minimalism', and especially her Forget-me-not boutique scarves

The Birds

Binary and The Brain have designed this lovely poster with BirdLife International to raise awareness of the 52 UK birds on the endangered red list. Each of the 52 birds used to create the letterforms are numbered for identification.

Birds are brilliant, so you should check out the website and see what they are all about. www.birdlife.org/extinction

Frankie Magazine

Possibly the best thing you could find skulking around a laundrette.... Frankie magazine is an Australian magazine that's as smart, funny, sarcastic, friendly, cute, rude, arty, curious and caring as you are. They have an amazing photo album book...and a few more exciting things too....

plus i've just realised where another shape gets her wallpapers from!!! xx

Amy Brown Illustration

Illustrator Amy Brown describes her work as colourful and occasionally a little distasteful...  Its a mix that works really well.  Yo dick eyes, you are dumped is my favorite, it makes me laugh everytime I see it, and in complete contrast I love the pompous cats in 'I think you're lovely'.  She even has pen drawn cats bashing symbols together as the intro page to her website, Brilliant! All in all its pretty good humour and it never fails to make me smile so heres a few images to share with my other Shapes and anyone else...

Voodoo Queens

Simple but effective, Nina Chakrabarti's Voodoo Queens series of interventionist doodles for I want you magazine show dark tribal doodles obstructing the models faces ....

Since studying Illustration at Central St Martins, she's built up a pretty impressive client list - Harper's Bizaar, Vogue, Habitat, Topshop and French connection to name a few...maybe a few drawings on some halloween photos wouldn't go amiss.

Wild Wallpaper

Devon based print maker Emma Malony produces the most amazing range of prints, wallpapers and t-shirts. Her designs include intricate interpretations of wolves, snow queens and firebirds. Much of her current work starts with designs cut with blades, which is then transferred onto screens enabling her to experiment with colours and repeat patterns.

With most of the prints incorporating monotype drawings, smoky loose lines, flat colour and delicate patterns, the outcome becomes a unique, majestical, almost life like illustrative style.

I love the new Beastly Chronicles wallpaper, inspired by the stories of Edwardian author Saki.
